TBN: Fabulous Face Edition- Top Three Finishing Powders for all budgets
As a long-time acne sufferer, powder used to be my best friend. It hid a multitude of flaws and set all the heavy, sticky acne makeup I used to wear to feel normal. I continued to use it well into my twenties and when I hit 30, just when my skin was balanced and even, I stopped. I had nothing to hide anymore and I prefered looking fresh than looking super-matte, the inevitable effect from applying powder.
Things are not the same these days. A decade later, I now love my powders, because they are not what they used to be. There is a new generation of formulas that take away shine but allow your skin to shine through. They are super-finely milled and they can (and should) be applied under the eyes to brighten your gaze and face in the most wonderful, natural way. Now, not all powders are this good, so I'm here to help. Below are my favourite three, from different price points. If you can't be bothered with foundation, you can use all three with just a little concealer in the mornings and you're good to go. I like loose powders because they last longer but they are very messy and always end up on your clothes in the morning. Also, I find them wasteful; all that product that doesn't end up on your face! So I prefer these pressed, compact powders. Finish your face with them in the morning and don't worry about a thing: you literally cannot apply too much, they are foolproof that way.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder: This is an amazing, innovative product that makes my face look younger, brighter, smoother, silky. Best of the best. It is expensive but lasts a very long time and is available to buy here: https://bit.ly/2RD1jrq
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Silk Powder: This is a recent discovery and is equally magnificent as the Tilbury Airbrush, at half the price. My skin looks better, with no oiliness in sight. It's like a Instagram filter for your real-life face. The best price I have found it available at, is here: https://bit.ly/2F9Znkw
Maybelline Fit me Matte and Poreless: This is very good- not as good as the previous two- but for its price point it's EXCELLENT. It's less silky too, but while it mattifies the skin, it is never heavy. This is fine enough to apply under the eyes without cakeing, so it's good enough for me to buy again. And again. Available to buy in many beauty stores and online here: https://bit.ly/2RD1yTm
