TBN: Affordable Makeup Edition- Wet n Wild Color Icon Review

(photo via www.wetnwildbeauty.com )

This is going to be short and sweet. I love the Color Icon Nude Awakening palette, I really do. Let's start this off by pointing out this is cheap. As in, crazy cheap, 8 euros cheap. How can it possibly be any good? The name of the brand and product are somewhat dubious. But Tati insisted it's very good, and I obliged.

I got my first one in the previous version of this colour scheme and I hit pan on half the shades. I rarely hit pan. I am equipped with the heavy artilery of makeup, Charlotte Tilbury, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Chanel, etc., but I bought this again in its newest version. And I loooooove it still.

You can definitely create nighttime looks with this, in the sense of more dramatic shading, not crazy colour. For eccentric colour, you will need to look elsewhere. Think of this as your neutral basics solved (warmer-leaning but neutral nonetheless). This palette has adore it/hate it reviews online which is a mystery to me, as it's always been stellar for any look. But for me, its main strength is the beautiful daytime looks. They turn up, they blend, they flatter, they last. Mattes are buttery, shimmers are present but subtle- just how I like both formulas.

Below, is yesterday's look using this palette. Lifts and gives depth to my droopy eyes with natural shading. Lips were lined and filled with Charlotte Tilbury's Supersize Me Lip Cheat. Simple, 10 minute look. Like I told you, short and sweet.
